Recommended Course Sequence

E 1         Form & Content in Jamaica Popular Music

3 credits

This course is an overview of Jamaica Popular Music and reviews its form and content.

E 2         Screen language in Caribbean Production

3 credits

A review of outstanding Caribbean full length and feature fills, identifying methodology in form and content.

E 3         The Internet and Global Media 

3 credits

This course examines the impact of the internet and its protocols on traditional as well as alternative and new media.

PD          Internship

(Repeatable up to 6 credits)

This course is offered as an elective for students in their final quarter(s) who wish to gain additional experience within an outside business establishment. Students may secure their own positions, with approval of the Academic Director. A faculty member coordinates the programme and evaluates student performance

VS 1       Voice and Speech 1 

3 credits

Sessions are conducted in the correct and proper use of the organs of speech in the making of vowels and consonants, and in posture and deportment. It embraces relaxation exercises, phonetics, sight reading and the presentation of specific selections from memory. The aim is to achieve clarity, expressiveness, pleasantness of utterance and native flow.
